Synthetic binders (preservatives) don't 'sound' appealing because they come with big, big 'chemical' names... who the heck wants to have to be a chemist when all you want is great body skin or beautiful, mattified, flawless,"poreless" facial skin?

Poreless? If you're poreless...you aren't alive. Pores enable skin to breathe, you can temporarily shrink them or blast the upper layer off or photographically retouch to make it appear as if they aren't there, but you can't get rid of them. Obsession with poreless skin has everything to do with 'youth' which is why 'toners' and 'astringents' are a big sell. They temporarily shrink the pore... that's all they do. Our skin is the largest pore on the body... see where this leads?

The point here is that while plant and vegetable/fruit oils SOUND more appealing (clover, lavender, allspice, pumpkin, almond, grapefruit, jojoba) than Dimethicone or Cyclomethicone (synthetic silicones), the latter are basic standard oils used in 70-90 percent of ALL makeup, skin and hair care products. Hence, the 'silky' feel...

But, Dimethicone DOESN'T SELL sexy....

So the bottom line for whoever is reading this...nothing used in makeup or skin care is NATURAL...unless one is into the "microbial look".

As Susan Sontag once pointed out, in Europe at the turn of the 20th century, fashionable women wanted to achieve the 'white gaunt skeletal look" which in fact was the effect of tuberculosis. Women of wealth NEVER tanned...it signified being 'outdoors' with the working class... anyone want to talk about how or why this has reversed? Self-tanning "signifies" good health/wealth nowadays... you've got the 'time' to sit in the sun (are the ideologies of makeup/fashion becoming more clear here?)

As long as one enjoys their life (the good and the bad), and lives it authentically (whatever this means to one)... the point here is something we all know, if you look good (to yourself) you feel better. It doesn't matter what one uses or does (yoga, walking, watching t.v., biking), to achieve it. Makeup, clothes, shoes, a beautiful watch on the wrist... nothing wrong with these commodities.

In my experience, it's how one carries the goods, which demarcates an organic (authentic) attitude.

Have a good day, naturally.
