I was born in the Philippines and then came to Vancouver BC with my family when I was 2. Before I was a professional photographer I was an illustrator. Ever since I was a child I really loved to draw and I must have spent countless hours in school drawing art inspired by comic books, manga, heavy metal music, and movies. In high school I naturally excelled in the arts and specifically in Graphics Communication. On top of the various graphics and illustration assignments I had, I also was given photography assignments so I borrowed my parents Nikon EM SLR and immersed myself in black and white photography. I shot everything and logged countless hours in my school's dark room. I went on to study graphic arts, illustration and design and eventually became a creative director at a local design firm. I put myself back to a path in photography when I took on a special assignment that required those old skills again.
