'Tis the season for fashion and this spring is no exception. It's high season for the fashion elite to debut their new creations and the most anticipated shows this season did not disappoint. Toronto’s “Fashion Week” went off without a hitch, and showcased some of Canada’s top designers. The designers this season were playing with every texture imaginable and mixed haute couture with the simplicity of day to day comfort.  The runway activity does not end with “fashion week” which ran from March 14th through the 19th this year. Fashion week only kicked off what is a series of glamorous events that celebrate fashion in and around the Toronto area.

One such event was “In the Raw, a fashion show in the making”.  The show was a keenly organized event that dissected the ever-changing aspects of fashion and the business that it has become over the years. The event was organized by the Fashion Arts program at Humber College; a 2 year business program that explores “the passion that drives this business, its focus, energy, determination and commitment to succeed”.  This is an annual event that supports and benefits The Fashion Group International (FGI) a global non-profit association of over 6000 professionals of achievement and influence, representing all areas of fashion, apparel, accessories, beauty and home industries and the Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI), an exciting and innovative group dedicated to supporting and nurturing new fashion entrepreneurs.
