See You

I do self portraits for a simple reason, a "model" is always there, easy to work with! When a idea appears I can quickly  and easily realize it. Thats the easy answer.

Secondly the act of making a self-portrait is a kind of self-reflection and self-exploration.... In this portfolio there´s some self-portraits where I have been asking my self, where and when does the portrait end? For example in "And now" and "On my side" I was exploring a way to cut off as much as possible from the face and only leave the mouth to "communicate".... The eyes should be very important! It´s a kind of game also, as the cat hunts the mouse, to hide and seek, being half invisible....a game with the spectator. In the image "See you" I just take the next step.... "I see you, but can you see me?!" Of course there are also questions about identity....
